A Playback Interview, by Heath Piper, is the modern-day memoir. Capture the life story of yourself or an elderly loved one to be cherished for generations.
With decades of experiences and stories to share, a Playback Interview is a celebration of life - exploring the big questions, personal perspectives, and treasured wisdom of remarkable individuals across Australia, England, America, and beyond.
Each interview is a bespoke, beautifully crafted piece of audio storytelling, created exclusively for you and your family to keep forever.
With over 20 years of professional broadcasting experience, I, Heath Piper, bring a deep passion for storytelling and production to each interview. This is more than a career - this is my life’s work.
-
When you commission Playback Interviews to interview your loved one, I, Heath Piper, will call you to provide an overview of the process, final product, questions you’d like covered and additional information on the interviewee and their story.
I will then call your loved one to provide an overview of the interview process and discuss location options for the interview to ensure the guest feels comfortable in their surroundings when telling their story.
Interview questions will be provided to all parties beforehand to allow for preparation and considered responses. I’ll also provide interview tips and tricks to help guide an enjoyable and comfortable experience.
-
All Playback Interviews are recorded face-to-face. Audio pieces are produced with broadcast sound quality of the highest technical standard.
During an interview:
I will arrive at the location of choice, with recording-studio quality microphones and headphones. The aim is to create space where your loved one is comfortable and open in a place they feel most at ease to record.
The interview takes approximately two hours.
-
With over a decade of professional audio-editing experience, I edit the interview audio for improved sound quality and removes any unnecessary “umms” and “ahhs”, however, no content is removed.
I aim to present the interviewees as their best selves. Music will be added to suit the theme of the interview along with any other soundscapes that may add to their life story.
The result is a beautiful piece of audio-art, for generations to listen to on playback.
-
The completed, edited Interview is sent to you via a private weblink, ready to be shared with whoever you choose to - it is your private keepsake. The interview can also be provided on a USB on request.
-
Every Playback Interview is crafted with care, attention, and respect for the person and their story.
